Answer one question, eight times
A quiet tone plays. We ask: did you hear it? If not, we make it a little louder and ask again — until you do. That is the whole test.

We do not guess — step 1 below plays a tone and you tell us how loud it really is, which sets the test to your device. Once that is done, do not change the volume again.
- 3Find somewhere quiet and silence notificationsBackground noise makes a quiet tone impossible to judge, and a message arriving mid-tone costs you that pitch.
